It is a day later, and I have taken the clamps off of the form. Here is what the bent wood looks like:

That is quite a sharp bend where the end went over the angle irons. And there is a bit of springback as well. Here is the wood removed from the form.

I don't think I can get a hoop out of this because it is not bent close enough to a circle, and the ends are pretty bad.

I am not there yet, but this is certainly better than what I ended up with for my attempt using the heat gun. I just need to figure out how to get the wood bent a bit tighter and how to avoid that sharp bend where it went over my angle brackets.
